Cam is way too small...you'll need at least another 8° of duration. Change the cam, and you'll be over 800HP...how far over depends on attention to detail, quality of machine work, and your abilities to tune it.

You can't compare Jones @.050 numbers with others. Even though his cam has shorter numbers @.050 it will probably run right there with the larger one. I wouldn't not at least try it. Bigger isn't always better also.

well the other cam was a bullet cam and it hit a wall at 8000 and it was shorter on lift 825" and would not pull past that. Im trying to turn it up around 8500. This is the1st time I have used Mike.

Your Carb pick is too small, you do not want to see anything higher than 1/2" of vacuume at peak rev's and full throttle if your reaching for 2 hp per!!

Brian,
Are the heads out of the box CNC R heads or have they been subsequently ported. I ask because the numbers are higher than I saw on my always freshly calibrated bench.

The size of the intake valve suggests to me that the heads have have been ported.

They were cnc by TEA originally and then intake had more work done on the bowl and ssr and intake port raised slightly

I feel the intake port flow is a bit weak to achieve 850 easily, You will need to maximize everything you can on the intake side...the manifold, the carb restriction as mentioned above and the cylinder fill will still be marginal to operate at the needed rpm to hit 850.
A highly developed intake, spacer, carb etc will be key to hitting your number.

What size Headers are you using ?
What are you using for a Rocker system and valve springs?

I am building a very similar combo with the exception being it is going to run 2 stage No2 setup using approximately 2000-2500 pph no2. 500-600 HP.
TFS R 235 heads, 361 Intake cfm 290 exhaust cfm, 12.8-1 compression and the cam is 278/296 115LSA.
430 inch and 28245 intake.
Engine is ready to assemble as soon as we finish installing the engine plates.
I am looking to make 750ish on motor and 1250ish with the no2 on.
