Intake manifold test data.

Post by pdq67 »

I'm looking for SBC intake manifold test data for the old Holley 300-36 Street Dominator and Weiand 8016 Stealth intakes.

Anybody by chance know where I can find this?

As far as I can tell, these two intakes were never tested with all the others when multi intake manifold tests were done through the years.

Thanks,

google either popular hotrodding or car craft. they have many pages on intake comparisons on the dyno. i remember the holley you mentioned because i have one. they probably also did the stealth test also. let me know if you cant find it, and i will find it for you. art

Why not contact Holley/Weiand directly and request the info you are looking for.

I am sure they have test/engineering data.

CarCraft did an all manifold heads up test a while back. It`s in their .com site. You might be surprised with outcome.

thanks for sharing KJ,looks like i should throw my super victor in the bin and purchase a 300-25 intake, i can see why so many people on speedtalk always recommend the holley strip dominator 300-25 there was very good results on the dyno =D> =D> =D> =D>

As it was brought up before, these tests were done with out of box manifolds. Any modifications to the manifolds and everything changes.

I remember speaking to an Edelbrock rep at SIR when they first released the torker II for the 460. I asked him how it compared to the Porto-sonic, which was the best single plane available for a 385 series at the time. His response was "why would we test it against that out-dated pos?"
At that point, I drew my own conclusions about the 385 series torker II. Time has confirmed those conclusions...

I'm always surprised I don't see more use of the AFR Titon manifold. I know its $600, but it always is one of the top manifolds. Plus you get the added benefit of a cooler carb mounting. Put it up against the Wilson ported manifold for $900 and it edged it out in every category.

I know a couple of guys that had water leak issues with them soon after they came out. Maybe there have been some revisions since. Where's Tony Mamo when you need him?

The write up I saw credited a combination of design and more accurate molding. They felt the thermal isolation wasn't a big factor on the dyno.
