Post by Boxcar64 »

Ok fist of all I am new to this forum so HI! Second I have a 351w I am building and puting in a IH Scout. But I want some opions on what cam will be best for my parts.

Parts 351w ProTopline 200cc Cylone ,58CC CHAMBER
COMP ratio 9.7.1aprox
EDDIE RPM AIR GAP/750 Holly/rollerrockrs....ect
COMP XE268 509/512 FLAT, HYD
SPEED PRO HYPER
stock deck

I wish I had 180cc heads orAFR'S but these heads were intended for another build originly. A wife and 2 kids later this is what im going to have to use is what I have. Will this cam be ok with size runner? Im stuck with 200cc's and the pump gass. Just dont want it to be a dog

You did NOT say what you were going to use this car for, BUT, the cam will work fine. That is one of my favorite grinds. It sounds mild, but runs real strong.

Im sorry about that Joe my keyboard is broke and it takes forever with this on-screen thing and thats why I was so short.

The Ole Scout is a 4x4/Convertable Hot Rod' 4x4 is used maybe 1 time a year on the beach. The rest of the year its 100% street and stays inside most of that.

Im more of a Chevy guy but I had the 351 stuff on the shelf. I just want more power than the old IH 345 has to give.

Any idea on the Hp with this head and cam combo Joe?

Also the exaust is 1 5/8 BBK Headers and 2 3/4,dual flowmasters.

If it was a Chevy, it would be at around 375 HP, 400 torque, the Ford stuff is good too nowadays, so it should be about the same. 375 HP and 400 torque.
