I would certainly argue that a good super stock engine is more labor intensive and complex then building a cup engine or for that matter even maybe a Pro Stock engine. If there is a slight chance of a minimal gain in stock or super stock you have to take the opportunity, and more often than not the opportunities do not live under the hood.
I had 150+ hrs in my personal Super Stock heads and manifold. I did the engine myself and everything was 100% new and it's far from Super "Stock"..

I have the car on scales right now and it presents it's own problems. 55% weight on the front. I've spent $5K just on the car to the latest cool stuff.

A 2002 Cavalier with TH200 and aluminum headed SBC weighs 2490 without driver.
Lower the engine and move it back until the head’s almost hit the firewall. That is of course if it’s not that way already.

Stocker valve job can be any angle and as many angles as you want with bowl blending down to the top of the guide boss.

It’s a front wheel drive lol

No it’s a 1984 Dodge Daytona 2.2 turbo. I ran a D/ED and C/ED in comp and SS/DM in SS.

I got it as low as I could. Still has a 16" cam center. But I have to add weight so I will get it ironed out.
