3.75 stroke in a Dart Little M Chevy

Post by joespanova » Sat Nov 11, 2017 10:14 am

Will a 3.75 stroke fit without a lot of grief using aluminum rods ( in this case GRP ) and .900 base cam. ( .750 .720 on a variety of lobe centers ) in a STD. cam location block?

Maybe or maybe not. [-X
You will have to check every thing for fit regardless and that is where you will find out if you have any clearance issues.

This is a mistake most guys that do not do this all day every day discover the hard way. And it's when they think they are ready for final assembly #-o

Best advise is to test fit all the parts 1st before doing anything else. :D

Yes , I understand that.......however , when you consider the expense and commit to buying a good crank you are stuck with it.
I'd like to hear from guys who HAVE done this.

we had to grind the pan rails on a few cylinders on one with 3.75 and steel rods, the rear throws were the worst if i remember correct but most of the others were barely hitting. Cant speak to the cam/rod clearance maybe someone else will chime in.
