This format is more difficult to scan the topics, and read.

This is similar to Motorsports Village, making the different board styles available will make it easier to chose one that will suit each individual.

I'll reserve final judgement until all new features are explained and functional, but so far it was an '8', now is a '7' on a scale of 1-10 :(

(Make that a 7.5; I like the larger dialog box!)

Eh... Don't really like the light colored format.
Needs to be darker, and not quite as feminine.
Kind of hard on the eyes.

I'm not a fan of this format, or the software usually used to generate it. It's not an overwhelming issue, but it is a somewhat considerable annoyance. This particular color layout is indeed unappealing, and really accelerates eye fatigue. When they are able to enable some of the features, I think it may be possible for the individual user to make changes, so I can live with what we've been provided for a while.

Wow, I just don't even like looking at the site the way it is, now. I can only take it for a few minutes at a time before the brightness gets a bit overwhelming.
I thought we might be upgrading to VBulletin... which is what Yellowbullet and most other places use.

Clicking the 'Page' tab at the top of the Explorer screen, then 'style', then enabling 'A++', as recommended by Whitewater Racer helped legibility.

I think you guys are going to like the new features. Hang in there and give it a chance and give me some time to work out the kinks.

Thanks,
Don

I gave up on explorer, I'm using Firefox, so I'll have to figure out how to make it look better and not kill my eyes. I can wait for you to work out the kinks.

WOW.. i just installed Mozilla FireFox 3.6 ... its a ton better + also a little faster to surf !!! i love it , its perfect so far

1 thing i did add was the .MHT Add-On..quick and simple,
with that add-on you can now save entire webpage as 1 archive .MHT file ,
which you can view off line or create a MotorSports Library of archived .MHT's

i know IE 7 and 8 and previous versions did this as well,
but FireFox does it quicker better ,
i have this 1 Vista Computer at home which has the original Vista version, no Service Pak or update,
it would freeze with IE7 at times , ...installing FireFox 3.6 solved that problem !
FireFox also works better on my XP Computers than IE

so I'll have to figure out how to make it look better and not kill my eyes
i'm in my Shop on Vista w/ FireFox 3.6 so i'll go back home and see what this page looks like on IE8 on my LapTop

so far i'm agreeing with you Alan,
its much harder to see Text and especially the Forum Sub Catagories look terrible
plus with "ProSilver" i don't think this version creates enough page width for nice sized Pictures,
its going to distort or chop off portions of Pictures from what i've noticed on older ProSilver versions

i'd install instead SubSilver style or give User choice
of ProSilver -vs- SubSilver

just tried 150 size Font ..looks better than Default size

it looks like the "picture width" is Ok with this ProSilver version
..kicked over way to the left side,
at least thats what it looks like in FireFox

its probably exactly the same on IE8 as well.

but everything else about the new style is worse than the old Forum in my opinion :)

X2
At least the text size is bigger and not as hard on your eyes. Now it they correct the color thing it would be much better.

Hi, I'm very aware that its always hard and fiddly to upgrade BBS systems, just a few objective usability comments that maybe tweak able :) personally the old look and feel where a well done and fine balance IMO

the new setup is more ascetic but its use of visual real estate is poor, key for me is usability and readability of what ever visual metaphor the system uses.

The contrast ratios are poor, information clarity and density is poorer than the older setup, and there for the key for me the “design” gets in the way of the content, the navigation style seems fine.

Would it be possible to offer some other layout options or make the default one more focused on usability and clarity balance with information density and look.

All the best with the new design, been there done that it's hard thing to get right!
I like hard problems.
