chassis dyno compitition tips

Post by 393ci »

Hi all i'm entering a dyno comp soon and was wondering if anyone has any tips for getting the most rwhp reading on the dyno run.. it's a dyno comp and i'm wanting to give myself the best chance of the highest reading possible.. I have never had a car on a chassis dyno but the engine has been dyno'd and tuned on a engine dyno..

any tips would be great thanks.. sorry if this is the wrong place to ask what is probably a silly question..

Drive train parasitic losses. Lighter diff and trans oils, proper air pressure in the tires, do a tune up by checking your plugs, cap, and rotor, make sure you're getting full throttle on the carb linkage.

More details on the car and dyno to be used would be helpful.

I'd think tires play a major role here. Will you be running on a single large diameter drum or 2 smaller rollers? Small diameter tires are probably better for power transfer on a 2 roller system. ( More contact area? )
