I think overall you did well. As your engine air demands go up, and if your intake was hendering that, there is where you will find your gain. So if it was holding the motor back because of lack of air through the intake then you should find some good gain's. Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Since it worked pretty well right out of the box, what kind of of improvement should I expect from these mods, based on your experience?

All aluminum 10.5-1 540bbc, Dart 355 Pro 1's, 1150cfm dominator, solid roller 274/282 @ .050 .750 lift @ the valve 114 lobe sep.

Thanks for everyone's help, I will let you know my results when I dyno test it again.

Steve :)
Well, I did make it to the dyno last sunday, and I was quite surprised with the results of the porting job.

Last year on June 22, when I dyno'd(chassis dyno) my 540 it made 669.5hp@7100rpm and 537.4ft-lbs@6100rpm. At that time the intake had been previously port matched to a set of Dart 335 Pro 1's but the plenum was completly as cast.

This pic shows the reworked manifold installed on the motor, and you can see the new port match job on the Dart 355 Pro 1's.

So last sunday it went back to the same chassis dyno, and this time it put out 700.1hp@7150rpm and 544.2ft-lbs@6450rpm. When comparing the sheets from both runs it looks like the new ported manifold is actually down on power and torque untill 6100rpm then it really takes off, but the o2 readings show the new combo was alot fatter down low, so I'm not sure what to think.

Anyhow, I'm quite happy and in a couple of weeks we'll see what it really does at the track. On a side note, I tried a couple pulls with a little nitrous approx. 250 shot ( 28n 22f @ 5.6lbs) and it blew the tires off on the rollers. I was only running my little 275/60r15 radials and they didn't have a chance once the nitrous hit.

Well, I just thought I would share my results with you guys.

Thanks for the help, hopefully I'll have an 8 second street car this year :D .
