ET vs HP improvement ?

Post by tod85 »

My old set-up made approxmiately 430 HP @ 5700 rpm & 500 ftlbs @ 4000 rpm and moved my 3200 lb raceweight to a typical 11.4 @ 118 mph in 2.5-3k DA.

My new set-up will have approxmiately 560 HP @ 6000 rpm and 530 ftlbs @ 4800 rpm.

Anybody have any idea of what type of et improvement I can expect ? I used to have a simulator that was pretty good at predicting this stuff.... but I seemed to have lost it.

thanks !

I think you'll pick up around 10 mph and 1 second if everything is in order. Meaning no traction issues, correct converter, gearing and tires.

Thanks for the replies and software link.... I'll have to give the program a try.

I am really just hoping for around 10.7 @ 125i ish in summer air or thereabouts .....but, I hope the 10.4 @ 129 is dead-on. :)

cheers,
Todd

at 3330 Lbs w/Driver, Powerglide,
560 HP and 465 TQ on my Dyno will run 10.10's at 130
at
583 HP and 465 TQ will run 9.90's 131-132 mph

you should have no problems running 10.70's or way faster
with 560 HP + 530 TQ
just double-check Fuel GPH delivery with Stopwatch

I think bottom 10's might be a bit optimistic for this set-up..... it will have a quality converter in it and its an efi application and it will be spot-on with the fuel and timing curve once I get it dialed in.... but I don't think it will get there with my mild set-up.

(This is a 436 sbc.... but its set-up for street/strip with a hyd roller cam and really not going to see the north side of 6200 rpm.... at least not now, but in the future it may. Its built to be able to handle well over 600 hp.)

But, I like your thinking the best. :D
