bridgeport valve seat options / recomdations tooling

Post by gunt »

going to bite the bullet and just about to order some valve seat tooling to suit a mill [ bridgeport ] thought i'd ask here first what options are out there and recommended or to be avoided , i see the 3Acut , but contact is very hard , the aim will all be 4-5 valve heads and flow development so cutter cost to be considered or a tool with large selection, considering the goodson , 3d fast cut , I see some stating they use serdi style cutters so where can can this set up be got and whats the verdict, or as an other option if certain parts are to be got from one vendor ant the rest elsewhere please advise

Thanks again

I think you have posted in the wrong section. You would get a better response if you posted this in the Shop Tech section.

If you want tooling call Newan they not only can supply any cutter shape you want but also make ball drivers for any machine.
Talk with there tech people and go over what you need to do.
Again do not waste time emailing back and forth make the phone call directly that way nothing get lost in the translation :D

NO
In fact the newan and serdi blades have an infinite number of cutter possibilities. the new 3A system does not hold a candle the the options of the other cutter system.
Absolutely any angle width and length and number of angles up to 6 on a single cutter blade. the other system is limited to 3 if I remember right. If you are only ever going to do stock stuff with the idea of never improving the breathing of the engine then the new3A system is for you. if you want to do better then a stock job then look at the other options
Just take a look in the Serdi and Newan cutter catalogue and see what can be had in a single blade system. =D>

No
Stay away from that shit. While it sort of works it's no where near the quality of the Newan style cutter body and multi-angle cutters that are available
Look here and choose your set up based on your current pilots sizes you have.\

https://www.cylinderheadsupply.com/pr3vasecuki.html

You can get the kit or individual components based on your needs. =D>
These are made by Newan but better to call newan as the cutter blades are from them as well and cut out
the middle man.
Newan also sells a program to design custom cutters and after 1 useage it pays for itself in saving the
custom cutter set up charge. =D> =D>

John designed a system to use cutters from different manufacturers on a mill. He did a youtube video on it and explains it all. Thanks, Charlie
