DOJ has started recovering missing FBI texts, DOJ sources say
January 24, 2018

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/01 ... s-say.html
Fox News’ Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on “Hannity” that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months’ worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released.

The missing messages have caused problems for the Justice Department inspector general's office.

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have sent a letter to Inspector General Michael Horowitz noting that the IG's office said on Dec. 13 that it had all the messages between Strzok and Page between Nov. 30, 2016, and July 28, 2017.

Lawmakers later learned of the five-month gap.

The lawmakers said they wanted the IG's office to "reconcile" those two points.

The five-month stretch of missing messages covers a period of time that includes President Donald Trump's inauguration, the firings of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and FBI Director James Comey and the standing-up of former FBI Director Mueller as special counsel to investigate alleged Trump campaign collusion with Russian officials during the 2016 election.

Rush just said they are on there way to recovering 50,000 emails/text messages. Not all are from Strzok, there are others also being recovered.

And the democRATs are going, "F*ck!, we thought we'd have had him impeached months ago before our corruption, collusion and obstruction was exposed. Now what?!"

Just keep calling him a racist, it's all they have "left". Lord knows they can't win on policy.

Exactly. They are waiting until after the State of the Union message to release it. By the way the State of the Union speech by President Trump could be one for the ages depending on how he wants to play it. I could see CNN turning it off. Bwahahahahaha

Looks like this guy is trying to dodge a bullet, ie, trying to save his Government Retirement! Good luck with that! [-X

FBI Deputy Director McCabe Forced To Step Down, But Not Leaving The Bureau Just Yet
As we await a possible vote from the House Intelligence Committee on the release of the memo that details possible FISA abuses, there’s some news from the FBI: Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is stepping down (via NBC News):

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stepped down Monday as the agency’s No. 2, multiple sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

McCabe will remain on the FBI payroll until he is eligible to retire with full benefits in mid-March, the sources said.

One source familiar said McCabe was exercising his retirement eligibility and characterized McCabe’s decision as "stepping aside."

McCabe has been at the center of ongoing tensions between the White House and the FBI and has reportedly been under pressure to quit from President Donald Trump, whose campaign is being investigated for possible collusion with Russia.

In December, it was announced that McCabe would retire in March, the point at which he would be able to collect his government pension. Sources told CBS News that the deputy director was forced from his post, but he won’t be leaving just yet. He’s reportedly remaining at the FBI under “terminal leave” until March—his projected departure date. (more here)

Also FBI Director Wray Read Nunes FISA Memo on Sunday. I wonder if this had anything to do with McCabe stepping down today? Release the memo.
