I would think the Florida location would keep the wife/girl friend and kids out of the convention center?
(they'd be at the beach or somewhere more exciting than following their husband around)

I went to the Indy PRI for years and the Florida one till they moved back.
Liked the Florida location much better.
(but not as an exhibitor)

Even made it to Indy when there was a blizzard, not much happening then.

:)
There have been a few blizzards around those times, both going and coming home from Indy ... before and after the Orlando trek.
I remember one coming home from Cincinnati.

Not a problem.Find someone with a team who's going....or make up a name for one of your own ..... maybe ABC Racing and get your name in.
It's not hard to do.
What you refer to as "not a problem" IS the very problem with the PRI.
Honestly,I've been there the last two years and haven't seen any problem with the way they run things.
Perhaps you could explain?
The Nazis didn't lose WWII,they just changed uniforms. Now they run the place.

I remember back in 1981 the racing trade show was in the underground parking garage of a hotel on Daytona beach. times have changed.

Jack, print your name pain white copier paper (maybe several times), then cut your name out and tape it to the badge. Just checked my Show credentials and it looks like about 32 point font for first name and about 30 point font for last name. First name is positioned above last name and both are centered on the badge. First and last name are all caps. No one will ever know that you have doctored the badge.
Even if you do not have your name positioned exactly, it will look fine and everyone will know who (what) to call you. LOL
Which booth are you going to be at?

OK, here's the straightest answer ... people like you who lie about their real credentials to gain entry to that Trade Show are the problem ... but, I bet you still don't understand.

That's an interesting statement considering that you don't know what my credentials are.

You're correct ... I only know what you told someone else to do; which is a real issue which has become a problem.
Sorry, I presumed you also were doing this.

I can see that you now have resorted to name calling so, this conversation has ended from this side.

It's pretty simple. This is a "Trade Only" show.
If you don't own, manage or represent a racing business or professional race team, this show isn't for you.

I respectfully disagree. I am in an entirely different business but I registered as an attendee and I plan to visit vendors specializing in surface finishing, composites, machining, coating technology, and 3-D printing. I have combed through the vendor listing and identified several companies that I will visit. The racing industry is often at the cutting edge of materials technology and high tech manufacturing. There is a real possibility that I will find some vendors that will become suppliers to my company. Yes, I'm a big gear head too, and I won't pass up the opportunity to search out some go fast parts and services.

Should I stay home because I don't represent a racing business or professional race team?

No, you are responding to a single vendor, it is a racing industry event, also with track owners, trailer manufacturers, publications, tool CNC centers, higher learning, insurance, etc. By all means you are welcomed, the vendor does have a point on the swag attendees, but the first time exhibitors with their pride and joy new product lines, are eager to have visitors, much like a restaurant with no cars in the lot, everybody passes them by, so stop in.

According to PRI's website, yes.
This is from their FAQ page
Can anybody attend?
It's trade only, so you must prove you own, manage or represent a racing business or professional race team. Race fans are not admitted.

If your business has nothing to do with automotive/marine/motorcycle performance, you should stay home.
