L92/LS3 "carb" cam

Post by phat68 »

I'm putting a L92 from a Escalade in my '94 SWB single cab full size and I'm going to run it with a carb at first. Is the wider LSA really going to be a problem?

No. Wider LC will have higher idle vacuum and less reversion, so less intake vacuum oscillation at idle and light throttle, which should make the idle and transfer slot easier to tune. With higher idle vacuum there will be less increase in vacuum from idle to cruise, this should result in less of the problem of the rich low RPM light throttle at steady speed and light acceleration, which is the trickiest and usually most confusing part of carb tuning.
