383 210 afr vs 220/227
Flowz aside isnt the 2.08 valve a little big for a 4.040 bore meaning not worth it over the 2.05 comp 210?
Have an opp to get a set of 220s sell mine off and about break even. Currently have Dart Conquest ported...230cc Jesels
Can the 210 CP be touched up wihtout worrying about breaking through?
Looking for a hair more torque, better signal and not lose a thing upstairs
solid roller, 260/268@050 4/11 6 spd
What about the 227 dont know a lot about them

With that Bore size a 2.08" valve will buy you zip over a 2.05" valve!
How much lower in rpm would you like your Torque peak to come in over what you have now , and what is the rpm of peak torque currently at?

I don't know the age of the heads to which you're referring, but the current "Eliminator" AFR heads are 2.08" intake on the 210cc head & 2.10" intake on the 220cc & 227cc heads.

One thing I can tell you on the 220 eliminator head is that the chamber overhangs a 4.155" bore adjacent to the intake valve enough that you have to either run a head gasket with the valve "pockets" in the fire rings, or one with a much larger bore size than the actual cylinder bore.

Im impressed with the power of some builds wiht the 210comp, the 210 street not so much.
I dont know where it peaks havent driven it in awhile, dont do dynos. With a 26 in tire T56 and 4.11 its over 3k right now just normal driving so dont want power to come on too early or I just go up in smoke. cant see the tach when Im on the pedal it pulls pretty good
its more of an upper mid range to top end deal
Torque now is "acceptable" wouldnt cry for a hair more overall + tad more top end
Figured id probably see a little more signal/throttle response if anything with the afr
ones I have are pre Pro1...they were advertised as 200...took em in to get ported when they got done was told they poured at least 215cc+ prior to now 230. Nice job by Mamo, car runs well but want to step up to a more modern head. Have a 300-110 to compliment
My thinking was right now I have a small runner abeit heavily ported (team G) and a slower head port. SHould be a faster intake port on the head would allow me a better intake. I know its splitting hairs but with this car thats fine. Deal is good only reason Im asking.
KNow id have to buy shaft rockers as I have jesels on the darts that wont transfer over? Should come close to breaking even as these Darts have no miles on them, polished blinged out etc.
If the 220 is just too much maybe Ill hold off. Joe and many of you guys have done em back to back Im sure

Dont have all the # in front of me but think these are around 294cfm at .600 or so, exh about 230. 2.02 valve

I am not going to tell you how to build your engine, but you are looking in the wrong place for more mid range or low end power. The AFR 195 would be very good for you in that respect-- You should advance the cam you have now as much as you can before you have valve to piston problems-- Many street racer type engines like the cam advanced as much as EIGHT degrees from split-- Besides --- It would be MUCH cheaper, and lots less work

I've found the AFR 210 race ready head works great on 355-383 cu/in SBC engines. Some think it's too big of a head. I find it's not at all. In a fairly hot street/strip build with at least 10.5:1 compression and a roller cam it's an excellent all around performing head. I also think it's the best value in the AFR line.

That is my choice too for hot street 383 engines- Very good bang for the buck.

2.08 2.05 absolutely no diff none,i had 2.05 afr said 2,08,so i did no change in mph or et or 60ft,,i took my 220,s down to ken wen he was alive ,he ported 1 intake an ex,he said go home an do the rest like this....i did an picked up 4 tenths pre eliminator hds jus like urs...over cast bowtie off road,ported,,13.1 383 20 plus yrs ago,,wen joe was runnen the white nova he built for his customer ....not chasen mph an speed these days ,,jus win baby,trophies an fun

You're not going to see much difference between the AFR 210/220/227 heads. Better off spending the time and money somewhere else.

Havent locked the distributor out either. Id be thrilled if I picked up just a bit and could leave the rest alone
Seems it may idle a bit better with more inital but once I mentioned I put an 850 the guy that curved it threw his hands up

After yrs of want,finally have them sitting here. Now thining the big valve wont really benefit me that much with a 4" bore vs the 230cc Dart with 2.02 valve. Hear Mamos making some nice stuff these days...see what he thinks. If im going to make a change I want it to count
