115% VE at that compression is awesome!

In a decent bracket car what should this engine run at 3400 lbs, glide, 4.56 ?cstraub wrote:Pump Gas BBC 555 dyno'd on KY 93 octane 10%Eth.
Straub Tech valvetrain and custom Solid Roller camshaft
Morel Black Mamba lifters
Scott Foxwell worked his magic on these Edelbrock Victor Castings 2.300/1.900 No valve change, stock size on this head.
Eddy Tunnel Ram
AED 750's out of the box.

cough cough. Really Straub? Is that 555 suppose to impress us or are you just pimping more Morel parts to help your bottom line? I figure you must be a paid poster.

When I turned 47 years old, I entered into my 5th decade of drag racing.

10 more ci, 1.5 more points of compression, bigger cam, better heads, AV gas fuel mix and a claimed "900 hp at 6700" with no dyno sheet... So 6 horse power?Racerrick wrote:cough cough. Really Straub? Although you were thorough on the product names, I will give you that.

The build was for a customer that had specific goals and this was the result. Near 900 hp at low rpm and has to live on pump 93 gas and live on the street. If it was an all out drag car a few points more compression, bigger cam and valve in the head, 900-1000 likely would have been made.Racerrick wrote:cough cough. Really Straub? Nice job. Not that you really care what I think I am sure, I don't always think everything is happy. That looks like reasonable power for the components used. Unless the cam is like 240 at .050. Victor 24's or 26's? The new style Eddy tunnel ram?
Re: Pump Gas 555 CID BBC, 10 to 1....Dyno 880 Plus...
Where is the question in OP post ??????. 99.9% of the threads on this forum are asking a question. Not serving an agenda and that is the point. Straub is selling his wares and thumping his chest. I find it annoying as this forum IS NOT for selling Straub cams, Morel lifters and Foxwell heads. He has been warned on the other forums for posts of this nature. For the parts used his motor is nothing special for a solid roller 555 with 2x750 carbs and ported heads just like the one I built for my customer. OP post belongs in the show and tell section.

Re: Pump Gas 555 CID BBC, 10 to 1....Dyno 880 Plus...
Actually my build is a little low on hp for a 566cuin A460 headed motor and I'm sure if I lost a point of compression and put on a tunnel ram with 2 750 it would be a wash.GARY C wrote:10 more ci, 1.5 more points of compression, bigger cam, better heads, AV gas fuel mix and a claimed "900 hp at 6700" with no dyno sheet... .
I provided all the important part numbers and techniques used that so anyone could copy the engine and get the same results. Did OP?????Although you were thorough on the product names, I will give you that

Chris, I really would like your best guess at this. I am working on a similar project but doubt mine will make this kind of power. I know that how fast the car runs "depends" on a lot of things but lets just make say the car will hook and go down the track, not as effeciently as a well sorted out super stocker, but just a good working bracket car.

Ok here is the Op post question:

Sweet motor. I wonder how much power the t-tam adds over a single 1050 dominator? I know those AED carbs are $999 each but are probably about some of the best you can get. Is the cam 263 / 265 @ .050 .706 / .693 108 ? That was the cam i had from Chris.

Build your own pair of 750 hp dp carbs
from 700-750-800 holley dp carbs + 2 x Proform 750 hp
carb body kits.
A fraction of the $$$ better result.
A great alternative is 2x eddy 750 afb's
simple, easy ,affordable, trouble free
Great streetability, only slightly less power
than full prepped Holleys. a lot less fuss.

You will get a very similar net valve timing result by opening the lash setting on your Lunati cam.. (For track use only)
Run the lash tighter when on the street.
You can determine the max valve lash point of your cam
with a degree wheel and dial indicator, or just ask Lunati.
This makes the valve timing change.
Yup you should have kept that other roller cam too.
There is (some limited) adjustment room looser for less effective
valve duration.
The car will show what it likes...
but keep the lash a bit tight for street use.
