Brodix Track 1 "X" heads
When building a 23* drag race SBC with 4.155 bore and 3.80 stroke is the Brodix Track 1 X and a good choice? Expect to produce about 700 horse with an operating range of 6400 - 7800 RPM

Joe, not necessarily out of the box, although that would be OK.
The goal is a SBC, 23* head that will run 6.0 ET 1/8 mile at 3100 pounds with driver. Doing so will require about 408 CI, 700 horse with an operating range of 6400 - 7800 RPM [all the above appromiximate] [most likely with methanol]
Given that, which AFR head will accomplish that goal?

The AFR 220 competition CNC ported will work very well on that size engine

For making 700 hp on meth I would like to see 320 cfm @ .650" lift out of the Heads used and the track 1X do not hit those numbers out if the box.

If you want to use a Brodix head then I would opt for the 18X heads; 18 degree but, with 23 degree exhaust pattern and uses 23 degree stud type rocker parts.Dragsinger wrote:When building a 23* drag race SBC with 4.155 bore and 3.80 stroke is the Brodix Track 1 X and a good choice?
