LS 1 'short' waterpump

Post by Caprimaniac »

Hiya. Trying to help a friend with a boat, he's stuffing in a LS1 from, said, a 2002 Corvette.

Is there a water pump available that doesn't proteude as far forward as the stock one?
The belt can be moved closer to the block tooo...

If a pulley- set crank/ wp is available, it'd be great....

Thanks

As far as I know the Corvette accessory system is the shortest or closest to the block. I did a search for a short aftermarket system but I did not come up with anything. Back to the top for you.

Is it possible to press the w/p's, "pulley-snout-mount", back closer to the w/p housing and then come up with a pulley that won't rub??

Do the same thing at the crank by using a different, "FLAT", pulley and shim it with AN washers??

Just throwing out ideas and really trying to help.

Looks like the '04-up 'Vette pump is the one you want. You can't use a fan with this pump, not a problem with a boat though :)
