Personal 380 SBC Dyno

Post by user-9274568 »

I built myself a 380 SBC for my '33 Ford. I decided to use my 205cc CNC heads. I dyno'd at Salina Engine, Salina Kansas, on their new Stuska. We are around 4500 DA.. Made 8 pulls is all. I'm going to do a block and then flog it hard. It has lots of potential!

Stock block 4.155x3.50
SRH v2.35PF heads (205cc)
SRH Holley 300-110 ported/burr finished
2.08/1.600 valves
K-Motion K1650 springs
LGM 1.70 rockers .300 offset
Trend double taper pushrods 8.100 long
Erson 262/268 106 LSA 101 ICL
.690/.660 retainer lift
Crower lifters
Moroso oil pump
Stef's oil pan
Scat LW Crankshaft

Whitener billet 4150

So here is my thought as I started reading....

I saw "33 Ford" and I thought, "cool... mild street rod cruiser type combo." Then I started reading the specs! LOL

Cam looks like it'll live a long life, pretty mild on the lobes - low maintenance engine?

Did you try winding the cam back to 103ICL? - I reckon it may be happier there, but I may be wrong!

Big spread from peak TQ to peak HP - she's not head limited, it'd go more rpm up top if you wanted it too & cammed it up.

I can see 700hp pretty easy with another 4 deg duration on both sides, 103 ICL & slightly more aggressive lobes - say .430" lobe lift.

It's a damn good starting point as it sits!

Would be interesting to run it on E85.
