Customer had some 1.8" installed height LT1x springs new in a box along with retainers, they went in at 1.76-1.8" installed height with -.050" locks to get around 125lb on the seat.
Had 2x odd valves that had been replaced at some point, they had lock grooves .050" lower than the others, so they went in with STD height locks to get them the same.

After cutting all the seats to equal height the valve tip heights varied up to .035", so they all got tipped to equal height.

Springs have enough headroom for 1.6 ratio rockers down the track, so that remains an option.

Cool project! I could see over 440 HP.
Racing a NA NHRA stocker should be mandatory before any posting.

If I could use a solid cam I'd agree, but a hyd flat tappet is gonna hold it back.

I built myself a junk 350 a while back for my work truck - I had a twin turbo 308 holden in it & got in a little too much trouble with the cops with it (impounded, court appearance etc LOL), so I parted out that driveline & built a 350, T350 & 4.44 gear combo for it.
Was a 4 bolt 010 block, stock crank, stock rods, second hand TRW flat tops, 462 heads with a fair bit of porting (went 26xcfm from memory), 11.5:1 comp, 258/264 on 108 solid FT cam, 1.6 ratio Windsor rockers, Vic jnr intake with light port work & a 750 demon carb.
Made around 470-480hp & was a hellova lot of fun for a cheap motor, SOB would just keep revving, I spun it past 7500rpm quite a few times.
We didn't have a strip at the time & didn't get one till after I sold it, but it would have been a low 11 second engine.

Tony, my apology, been that long since i saw the chevy intake that i thought was a victir jr. Its actually a #7530 Team G. Coolant passages fine with a clean up and no port work. If you're still interest I'll drop it in tonight.
Cheers
Craig.

I *think* the team G will work pretty good, but I dunno, never used one.

What say the ST collective - Team G V's Vic Jnr on this one?

I picked up a tenth with a team g over a Vic Jr on my 355 some years back but it was a team g with the 2" spacer cast on it.

Craig - Schaeffer reckons the Team G is the go, better than a vic jr on this type of combo - so yeah, I'll grab it.

Final combo is the heads above, 238/238 on 106 crane hyd ft cam, 10:1 comp, team g intake, 650 pumper holley.

Methinks around 420hp.

Team g with spacer will be fine. I bet you do a bit of porting on it, especially if you flow the head intake and carb together! I know, more work for you. Thanks, Charlie

Yeah a spacer is going to allow a lot of runner entry work on this intake.
It even has undrilled cast bungs for foger nozzles

It'll get a wash & cleaned up gasket faces, that's it dammit!

Compared to the performer that was gonna go on it it'll be a big step up even left as it is.

If he gets all enthused about racing then we can step this thing up a bit in the future, as it is it's gonna be a tough street engine that can hold it's own on the 1/4.

IMHO the best $ spent from here is not manifold porting, but an upgrade to a solid cam & a 750 carb.
