Being that the ROVER alloy V8 is almost the same as the BUICK / OLDS F85 block how about a set of REPCO - BRABHAM cyl heads .... mind you, you will have to use a flat plane crank or alter the cams these were 2 valve heads intake 41.3mm ex 34.9mm the engine weighed 300 lb and produced 298 bhp @ 7500flyingwedge wrote:The motor, that begs to be built, is the rover V8 with lotus 907 heads,(same bore spacing). 907 heads are easy to get via Jensen Healey. Major obstacle is getting 4 custom/round lobe cams made or a single-plane crank. Costly proposition, either way. flyingwedge.

Good point.I drove a Toyota Tundra the other day. 4 door, 4x4, etc. It was strong for a 5.7 at over 5000 lbs. It would be impressive at 2800 lbs.Warpspeed wrote: But how about some of the Japanese DOHC four valve V8s ?
Now used in many SUVs there are enough of them around and they are not expensive, and many go faster bits are available from Japan.

>> Nice concept, but what is the bore spacing ? Not exactly horsehoes here. We need a lil' better than "close". Rover/sbb is 4.240". Then we'll need a crank, to handle all that impressive power. The Toyota DOHC four valve V8 engines actually come with the crank already installed.flyingwedge wrote:Then we'll need a crank, to handle all that impressive power.
Cheers, flyingwedge.
Made of forged steel too.
Cheers, Tony.

I'm going to trade my Toyota HalfTundra in for a 3/4 Tundra.

Off topic but not really.
Anybody remember the AERO BBC 4-valve pushrod heads that had the short cross ways pushrod and bell-crank that actuated the exhaust valves??

Those of you who are familiar with Arias Hemi's will love what he has done for the LS motors. Here's a shot of an Arias Hemi LSX build I did for Nick Arias. Heads are 71cc shallow chamber hemis. Flows 400+ As with these types of configurations the push rod angles are extreme. These heads are huge.

neat pic, rocker assemblys look decent. I understand on the arias sbf conversion you have to get a custom ls style cam cut for the sbf to use them, dont know if that would effect/limit power?.
Re: Just for interest's sake - Weslake SB Chevy 4-valve head
anyone here by chance got any info on a similar multi valve sbc pushrod conversion, M/T's old pushrod 24V sbc head conversion?.
