Best air filter for drag racing?

Guys who in your opinion makes the best air filter these days for drag racing applications? I dont want a paper filter because i heard from a good source these collect moisture over time and you are sucking that in your engine. Would a cloth type filter be the best? I need a top of the line 14 x 6 race filter for my cowl induction setup on my 69 Camaro. Any help is greatly appreciated.

K&N is the best.I went for a tour of their shop, in L.A. The testing they do is incredible & they strive to be the best & they prove it. I will say that I'm not crazy about some of their air cleaner bases. Anyone out there agree?

What about these new R2C Sportsamn series air filters? I heard these are fresh on the market and only have to use compressed air blowing inside out and requires no oil. About know anything on these?

we've been using r2c for a couple years now in circle track. far and away better than k&n. k&n's seemed to let more dirt through and when they did get dirty they lost more power than the r2c.

that Filter has a ton of breathable surface area

that's a big Ford 731cid turning 7800 RPM
its trying to move a whole bunch of air
yet that Filer hardly hurt HP or TQ
and it even made HP number steadier top end !

That's a BLP killer spread apart custom Dominator type Carb 2200 cfm

its on a Mud Truck ..you can still see some left over mud spread on few parts in picture

would be interesting to see what a taller filter would do. what is the distance between the top of the carb and the filter top?

That filter is about half the height of the R2C filter we ran on a 410 Sprint Car. The 410 demand is around 1200 CFM. This engine would consume much more. The stacks did like to see more room above them but I agree these these numbers look very good and that's dirt car filter media so it has very high engine protection.

On our drag stuff, we use the r2c sportsman series drag models with the r2c air cleaner bases and it's quicker than without the filter and base repeatedly. This one would have been interesting with the shaped insert they sell and then the airbox above it.

I was remiss in not commenting about that engine. It looks fantastic. Went out to the garage and mine kind of pales by comparison. Nice pictures too.

Ok, now put the lid on the top of the filter. LOL
I run a big square k&n inside my dragster scoop now. It is about the worst scoop base for the filter, as it sits right down on the two toilets, so only that much filter is used. Didn't see a difference on my timeslips. 407 sbc running 7.88 quarters in 1775# dragster. Last season was the first season I ran one. I was always hard core against them. I guess I proved myself wrong.

Looks a little like this one... Except for the dual N&S bowls. BLP has some new single N&S, float and bowls out soon, looking to try them on mine. Mike has run the fuel pressure under 3 PSI with them, and without the headache of balancing dual N&S.
