Hi, has anyone used or have any info about the lunati voodoo solid flat tappet cam #60343 288/296 adv. 259/267 @.050 .586/.606 w 1.5 rocker on a 110 lsa, looks like maybe designed by UD harold from ultradyne for lunati :?: I can't seem to find the dur. @ .200 anywhere listed, also do you think this cam would be to small or mild for a street and some strip 500" mopar lowdeck with indy max wedge SR cnc 295 heads, also thinking of using 1.6 rockers, 11.5 comp. 6.76 rod, 3550 lb 64 b body, 4.10 gear, 727 auto, 3500-4000 stall. I also have a cam sitting here but wasn't sure about using it, MP 590 around 304 adv. 271 @.050, 179 @ .200, .590 w 1.5 rocker on a 106 lsa. What you guys think would work good for a cam? Thank's

Do you need to run power brakes and be happy idling through a street cruise? The Lunati would make you happier in that respect. I would need to know more about your application to make a real suggestion, headers, exhaust, etc.
The MP 590 is a good cam choce for a lot of bracket racers. It does catch some flack from people as being an old grind that can be improved on. But it has powered a ton of successful bracket cars.

Get the comp 821-16 lifters. They have a solid body that does not create a huge internal oil leak at base circle. I had this once with what I thought was a fairly mild solid cam. I have a video of the problem. Link to follow...

Hi, The car is a 64 belvedere, mini tubbed, caltrac suspension, 4.10 dana 60, 28x13.5 et street slicks, manual brakes and steering, probably around 3500-3600 lbs. headers will probably be 2" primary 3 1/2" collector and 3" exhaust with straight through type muffs. weekend type cruiser, once in a while strip.
Thank's for any info or suggestions :) Also my lifter bores have been bushed.

From your build description I would think the 590 would be about as good as it gets for a flat tappet cam, especially if longevity is a concern.

You could probably build a bit more power with with a "fast ramp" (more modern) cam, but the 590 is an amazingly good cam for a max wedge port, 6,500 to 7,000 RPM build (or a bit more), and has a gentler ramp which is very durable on modern oil, less valvetrain stress, plus it doesn't have nearly as much valvetrain noise as the fast ramps, and still works amazingly well.

In any event, I believe that looking at the Voodoo line for your build is a mistake. - Not that there is anything wrong with the Voodoo line, but your build isn't what it's designed for in my opinion.

If you have the 590 already, try it. You will probably like it, or look into a roller.

I'd run the 590 as well. The only thing that may hold it back a bit is the converter. It likes em loose.
