Where its only a 4.125 bore I would go with 1003 gasket!!

More often than not, especially when it comes to aftermarket heads, the heads determine the gasket size moreso than the bore diameter. Make sure to set the gasket on the head, and make sure there is no overhang of the gasket into the chamber. Naturally, the same thing applies to the bores. The fire ring must be compressed on both sides for it to work.

I would think the 1003 would work its 4.166 bore gasket.

Since you are using aluminum heads, I would use a multi-layer gasket. They don't seem to brinell or indent the deck surfaces of the heads as bad caused by the wire rings in the 1003's or 1034's. Especially between cylinders 3 & 5, 4 & 6. Unless you don't plan to take this engine apart and see the dents, those 1003's or 1034's will not give you problems.

X2

I would only use MLS for aluminum heads. They may cost a little more but every time you pull the heads with a 1003 you'll need to resurface them.

I've had very good performance from the FelPro 1143 MLS head gaskets!

X2 I have had mine off 3 times in 6 years and just clean and re-install. Never a leak.

Felpro 1143 it is then. These are brand new heads so I want to protect them as best I can.
