Are you refering to the line at the outer row of bolt holes?
I'm sure you know this but the triangle area around each of the outer bolt holes are where the cutter/head deflect, a combination of the setup, machine spindle, interupted cut, and casting not being rigid as one might like. Obviuously not intended to be used as the final surface prep to seal a head gasket, but a production style finish.
Also, the coolant ratio looks weak and the cutter inserts need to be rotated. :D

I combined the pictures and rotated them. You're the expert but to me the marks look qualitatively different.

The one on the left looks to have a crack  Only joking, but they look like different casting as around the pushrod area looks different

I would guess the original head had those tubes installed after purchase (?).

Kevin, why? They serve no purpose, that is if they are tubes installed.

My guess would be that the intake passages were ported and the tubes serve to reinforce thin areas resisting 30lb boost.

Point taken, but it looks like they machined material away to fit the sleeves which kinda defeats the purpose, don't ya think?

The tubes themselves appear close in OD to the ID of the area in the new casting. The area machined/ground away at the mounting face may have been to allow room for the tooling for drilling or installing. In any event, Steve could comment on this directly.

So he doesn't think people should say anything about broken World parts on internet forums but it's OK for him to bash people from this forum on the YB forum... [-X John

I don't know about you but I don't need a moderator to fight my fights or to hide behind.

I can tell you as a mod it's been VERY close a couple times... derogatory comments started flying and when they are posed at the person, not what he's saying I feel the fuse burning...
