I use the supplied thick flat washers. Dab Ultra Copper around the bolt holes on the pump after thoroughly cleaning the pump surface. Do the same around the washers under the bolt heads. I torque them to 18-20 ft/lbs.

Ps... I still use the JW orings if possible along with the rtv between bell and pump. A Glide front pump seal is the same as the TH350/400 uses.

I use Ultra Gray on bolt heads and washers with O-Ring and Blue loctite on threads and torque to 20 lbs. No leaks and no loose bolts!

Tahnks for replies guys
I phoned jw bell and they told me to torque the bolts to #20 and use blue locite with flat washer no idea how thick and to use 5/16th x #18 X 2 1/4 bolts......well i can't find any place with 2 1/4 bolts eith 2" or 2 1/2 " ....so usuing 2 1/2 bolts will stick out inside of the front pump and cause some kinda problem or what...........thanks for the reply

Look at any local place like Fastenal or Grainger, etc. If no luck then call JW and ask for Eric. Tell him I (Steve Oldani) sent you... he'll be able to round up the right bolts and washers for you. Or, contact Hutch in London, Ontario if you want to stay in-country. His number is 519-453-4318.

Buy 2 1/2 inch bolts, thread a nut on them and then use a Dremel w/cutoff wheel to cut 1/4 inch off. Take the nut off, and you are done. The nut will clean up the start threads when it is taken off.
Is the defect in what I see, or what I'm seeing with ?
