 Mike, we will likely never know for sure about the first statement, given his particular circumstances and not having valid documentation to prove citizenship at birth one way or the other. One thing is certain...... He became an Indonesian citizen at age 5 and used his Indonesian passport into adulthood, whilst never renouncing Indonesian citizenship nor applying for US citizenship to date. There being no provision for dual citizenship between the two countries in question...... I find it highly unlikely that he is (legally) a US citizen today. Let alone a 'natural born' US citizen under the laws in place at the time of his birth. An entirely different scenario than the child born many years later to Chinese immigrants under the laws in place at that time.

And as you say...... The Supreme Court has issued conflicting rulings regarding the definition of what constitutes a 'natural born' US citizen over the years.

Bottom line...... Given the circumstances, the time frame between now and the 2012 elections and the present makeup of Congress (House must bring articles of impeachment, but present Republican majority doesn't have the balls to pursue it...... Senate must decide outcome if House were to bring charges and present Democrat Senate majority would never do so)...... It appears that Barry Soetoro (AKA 'Obama') will likely get off scott free and move on to 'bigger and better things' amongst his globalist friends (America's enemies) at the UN...... Once we vote him and his radical socialist 'administration' out of power and begin repairing all the damage they have done to our country whilst in power.

Harry

That's the best Idea I've ever read. They can have Hawaii, and Obama. All the japanese living in Hawaii may not like that, but I can live with that.

How about Samoa rather than Hawaii? Hawaii is a nice place to vacation and you would need a passport if they gave it to the Chinese.....

That doesn't matter.
Read "United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898)"
A child born in the U.S, that is taken out of the country by his parents, doesn't lose his citizenship, no matter what country he goes to.

The only thing in question is the definition of "Natural Born Citizen", and the supreme court won't ever touch that subject.

:D Mike, given the millions in your and my and indeed all of our taxpayer dollars that this man has spent thus far to prevent the true place and circumstances of his birth and of his citizenship from being known...... I sincerely doubt that we will ever have sufficient information to determine whether the first part of your post is applicable to his particular circumstances.

I agree with you 100% regarding the second part of your post and the Supreme Court's reluctance to definitively state who is...... And who is not a 'natural born' US citizen.

Harry

If "birthers" applied the same standard of evidence for the claim of Obama's birthplace that they do for certain other aspects of their belief, I believe the U.S. would be in a much better place than it is now.

:D We do. That's why America will be a much better place following the 2012 elections.

So endearing and loveable aren't they?

This is the thought process, I don't like you so I say, ' your momma dresses you funny'!!!!
It really demeans thier own cause.

Are "native peoples" (Indians, we used to call them) considered citizens of the U.S.?

tom
Pray for a secular future.

MSNBC's catch phrase is "Lean Forward". Shouldn't it be "Bend Over"?

Since 1924, Yes.
There are some interesting Supreme Court cases on this subject. You should take some time, and read them.
In the late 1800's a Native American was denied the right to vote, even though He was born in the U.S. The supreme Court ruled that since he was born, and lived on a reservation, he owed hia allegence to his tribe, and not the U.S.
