Wow, I hardly proposed a pity party for anyone. The code name was not that big a deal but it was a poor choice. Think anyone woud have objected if we used "Jesus"? Or maybe "the Pope"? As far as the Native Americans and the sorry history of what was done to them as the country was settled I have a few thoughts. It is history and occurred in a very different world. Back then, it was just the way things were but in retrospect there is very little to be proud of. No one involved is alive today though so there is no place for guilt or anything of that sort. But hopefully we can look back and learn.

As far as Tom's remark "Screw the Native Americans", it speaks for itself as boorish and offensive.

My sense of humor isn't for everyone. In any case, that remark was in regards to the code word issue. I'm not totally insensitive and am well aware of their demise at the hands of the Europeans.
