HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
A guy brought me a box of Holley carbs that have been disassembled. There are several carbs there : a couple of 750 mech, 600 vac, and a couple of 450 mech. Plus spare parts gathered over the years. I need help matching the metering blocks to the correct carbs. I couldn't find the info on Holley's site. Found part #, but not the stamped ID numbers. Here is what I have.
11166 3
9970 3
6541 4779
11180 3
11038 6

Re: HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
anything 4779 is 750 DP, check the jets in the diff. blocks and see if you can match the jet size to carb size, that should be in the book.

The 4779 is a 750 DP block, the 11180 3 block is from an early 4781 850 DP, two emulsion bleed metering block. I use those for an inexpensive 3 to 2 circuit Dominator conversion.

Call Holley Tech Department. They will help you with all your numbers. They even can tell you the application from the numbers, jet size, etc.

11180-3 is for a 750. Look at the pvcr size.jmarkaudio wrote:The 4779 is a 750 DP block, the 11180 3 block is from an early 4781 850 DP, two emulsion bleed metering block. I use those for an inexpensive 3 to 2 circuit Dominator conversion.

Re: HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
My records show the #11166 block to be a primary block for a 4779DP.
The #6541 and #11180 blocks to be primary blocks for a 4779DP.
The #4100 block is a secondary conversion block to convert a model 4160 to a model 4150.
I don't have anything on the other numbers, but I hope what I listed helps. CJ

11166 is a secondary metering block, and will not be drilled and tapped for a power valve.

I'll have to look, but my blocks come bare, without any plugs in the wells, IFR's, and I believe PVCR's. I asked for 850 blocks, may be what they use at BLP and modify as needed. Either way they are an early 2 e-bleed block and should work for any DP with the right IFR's, PVCR's and jets.

Re: HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
The pvcr is drilled to size for a 750. If they're complete metering blocks like the ones he's got, the ifr will be for a 750 also, and will be smaller than they would be for an 850. For what you're doing with them they're fine.

Re: HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
Thanks guys. That info seems to support whats here as I have 4779-6 and 80779. Both 750's.
Re: HELP!!!...Holley metering block ID
Bump for new question. I have a couple metering blocks that I forget what I took them off. They have ~.077" PVCR and three emuslion. Sorry to ask, I usually put a wire tag on stuff and didn't here. They do have the idle feed jet at the top. They are numbered 12011.
Thanks,
