One of the things that makes it great is excluding the the destructive people from being among us, in the end it makes the country more productive becuase the cost of the destruction they would otherwise cause is far higher than the cost of imprisoning them.
so then you are actually a socialist at heart? b/c that SURE sounds like socialism to me....
I was no longer driving the car consciously. I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension.

Two main issues.

The crime that drug addicts do before being caught for drugs.
Plea bargains. The crimes they are imprisoned for are often not representitive of the crime they commit.

Let's just cut to the bottom line, what is it you are proposing?

It seems like you are argueing that if we didn't put people in prison we would have less crime, is that really what you are saying?

BTW, those stats about people imprisoned for drugs are misleading, I'm curious, before I tell you why, do you know why?

F1, if you think I wrote that, you misunderstood me, imagine that.

Exactly.

I had a liberal teacher (a likely pothead) try to tell me almost everyone was in jail because of substance abuse or drug possession. I explained how plea bargains work and he looked at me like he had no clue.
