This engine is going in a full size chevy truck that will be used for mud boggin and truck pulling it has 4.88 gears and 42" tires for mudding and will be running 33" ish tires for pulling. I'll be happy to answer any additional questions.

Here is my experience with high torque 468 BBC's
Get a cam with a narrower lobe center (108) Keep the duration below 280* @ .050.
Run as much lift as you can get at the valve.
My favorite is the Crane R280.
Since Crane is no longer in business call your favorite cam grinder and ask for what they have in this area.
Best of luck with your project.
Erson has a cam that is very close to the Crane. I have used both with good results.
Run the cam a bit advanced to take up for chain or belt stretch.

I was thinking a cam with 265-272 @ 050 on the intake myself.
I was no longer driving the car consciously. I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension.

I'b be much smaller.
I'd go with a 258/258 for this application.
You don't need to carry a lot of top-end power, you need this thing to pull hard from 4,000-6500.
