Hello everyone,
Well im trying to get sponsored in Central America, i want to race a pretty small dragster.
My question is: How do i prepare the proposal to present it to a marketing manager in a country like one in Central America, the basics on any marketing department is the same, as far as seeking exposure conserns, but racing in those countries is waaay different from here, budgets are very low, and people atttending this kind of events is less than in the US.
If someone has presented a proposal similar to the one that i need, ill appreciate some advise on it.
Thank you very much.
Dan

Sponsorship outside of the US with a US based company is in my opinion impossible. They want to sell their products outside of their borders, but can't see giving anyone a few bucks to promote it. This I know as I've been racing for 25 years and gave up 5 years ago. Spent more money in putting good packages together, mailing them States side in what I got in return. $0.00!!!!!!! Now this is why I try not to buy anything made in the good old USA. Being Canadian it's even tough here getting Canadian companies to help you out, but they can certainly send their money south of our border, just like Crown Royal has. They sponsors the IROC series and a champion like Paul Tracy Champ Cars didn't even get an invitation to run. Figure that one out. Free trade my ass. Oh I'm sorry, you probably thought Crown was made in the US like the Monte Carlo????? Don't get me wrong, I love the US and Nascar

Hello,
yeah your totally right about that, i believe its impossible too.
What im trying to achieve is for a local beer brand (Guatemala Central America) to sponsor my car, im trying to prepare my proposal for them and directed to their interest and focusing on their sales..
But my question or concern is that not there aren't many race fans in Guatemala as in other countries,
thats the advice i would like to get..
How to prepare the proposal to someone like them in Guatemala,
the Brand is very very famous in central America, it is called "GALLO"
which in english means rooster.. JAJAJAJAJ dont laugh
well thank you anyway and lets keep in touch

Dan,

I don't know all the particulars or what problems you might encounter but for a basic/generic type of proposal go to my web site www.doubledmotorsports.biz and click on the Marketing Info on the left side. As you read each page at the bottom there are additional links to take you through the entire proposal. Modify as necessary. If it gets you in the door good! But I can tell you cold calls or unsolicited proposals rarely work. It is best to get inside with the chamber of commerce or a social/business gathering and make up a short brochure then if someone acts interested give them one of those and ask when you can meet with them. I have done better by talking to different business people at the track. But who knows they may do it differently in Central America.

Hope this helps
