What you describe is a witch hunt. You need an underlying crime with evidence for a special council. There has been none and that is why the request for the documentation. We want things out in the open. It is called transparency.
With the rump team take your pic of crimes past and present and go from thair.

Mueller's team is authorized to pursue any and all criminal charges uncovered by the investigation."

Yep
How do you know that? Rosenstein will not release the mandate. Judge Ellis has demanded to see it from Mueller. As to Manafort those so-called crimes happened in the 2005-2007 time frame. It was the DOJ who gave the documents to Mueller in order to try and squeeze him or have him compose what happened. What happened in 2005-2007 has nothing to do with Trump/Russia or even Trump obstruction.

Edit: Mueller broke into Manafort's home on July 26. On August 6 Rosenstein after the fact revised the mandate to cover the raid that occurred on July 26. Not good. [-X
I thought that part was public, I could be wrong.
You are wrong.

Good. House republicans have no business seeing anything related to an open criminal investigation and by saying no the DOJ is protecting them from possible obstruction charges which they are getting very close to.
They are asking to see the "mandate" that Rosenstein gave to Mueller. That is not interferring with an open investigation. Judge Ellis also wants to see it in a non redacted form. It appears that the DOJ has agreed to give it to Judicial Watch through a court order. Again you are way, way off base.

The judge asked to see it, sealed so only he sees it. No problem.

The house members asking habe already shared info with the WH on at least 2 occations.....that is interfering and what the DOJ is protecting against. They have no need for that info, they have the testomony of the person who wrote the memo saying the investigation is within the authorized scope, so what more does the document add?

I don't think they are planning to show it to Judicial Watch, they are reviewing the FOI request to see if any additional info can be released, at least that was the last status I saw.

Also by the Constitution Congress has oversight. You may not like it but that is a fact.

Mueller is only and attorney. He only has the power that Rosenstein grants him. That is why the mandate is so important to see.

They actuallt don't.its not in the constitution.

They control the money, so they have the implied power to review how the money is being spent. They don't need to see the mandate to review the spending.

The executive branch is co-equal and law enforcement is their constitutional mandate, they have every right to enforce the laws as they see fit. Congress has the right not to fund anything they don't like, so congress could pass a law defunding Mueller if they are unhappy, but they cannot interfer in an open investigation, that would be obstruction, a law congresses passed and the executive branch is expected to enforce.

Read the constitution. Oversite is an implied power not an explicit power. The explicit power is control of the money, which leads to the implicit power as a matter of practically....but the exec branch, Rump's people, can ignore congressional requests, that is not a crime.

Nunes and Gowdy met with the DOJ today. Let's see what happens. I will add that I do not trust Trey Gowdy.

Nunes can't be trusted with sensitive information.
