Russians had evidence it was faked by Briton (no gas attack happened), and now we wait for the Russians to retaliate, on those who just tried to kill them. The entire world is on the chopping block now.
"Russians had evidence..." Ok, stop right there, lol. "Wait for the Russians to retaliate..." Ha! Putin pulled his fleet out of port and got the hell out of the way based on a single tweet from President Trump.
A message to his master I can't stop this so get your troops and equipment out of the way.

Looks like the coalition was taking out Assad's chemical weapons facilities. Question? If we did nothing what kind of a message does that send to North Korea?
Since trump announced the attacks well in advance, Syria and the Russians had plenty of time to prepare.

Good work Obummer.....ummmm I mean trump.... #-o
Get ready Russia!
D Trump.
The deeper we get into trumps presidency, the more he looks like a lighter shade of obummer.

If President Donald Trump had done nothing, you morons would be on here trolling along about the red line. That's why nobody cares what you have to say.

Did you see the same evidence that President Trump did? Where did you get the story that the Briton's did the fake gas attack?
Trump claimed immediately it had happened after a video by the "White Helmets" who are backed by and connected to Al Quida, and the Intelligence forces of the West released the video of a supposed attack. A repeat of last years claims and counter claims. He immediately repeats the same claims, with zero investigations by anyone and before any evidence could be obtained by him was possible and recently after his own people said they had no evidence to connect Syria a year later on the last false claims Syria did anything.

The White Helmets won an Oscar for acting.....And what did Trump say in his campaign to get votes, and in the preceding years before that about being in Syria at all?? He then did the opposite, and it was the Russians and Syrians that have defeated the terrorists in Syria. The last strong hold for these animals fell, and in days suddenly 100 missiles from where rained down on Syria??

What part of what the US and Trumps claims match up to the truth?? Drain the swamp he promised LOL Then brings it in with him, and pardons Libby, and doesn't prosecute Hillary or the rest. Nothing changed.

The US claimed they were not warned, but the Russians state they got 2 days warning on what the targets were, to save lives and evacuate the areas. Hmmm

Lots of info on Syria and whats going on and why. And yes, I use to be part of US Intelligence, so I know more than most and for a fact the US news is a joke reading scripts. White the politicians read scripts, and you think you know or can trust them.......

And you believe that? The British murdered 40 civilians with chemical weapons to make Russia look bad, that is the story right? The same Russians who just used chemical weapon inside England?...oh wait that was fake too. #-o

What Pres Pee Brain did was the very least that could have been done.....where it up to me all aircraft is Syria, including Russia would have been targeted and a demand issued the Assad be delivered to the Hague. Then the world would understand we are serious when we say chemical weapons are not OK.
Hollywood acting convinces you anyone died?? No, Briton told the White Helmets, such a video of such a chemical attack would be needed, as the last strong hold fell. Yes, they use little trained acting kids, in their videos as the dead and casualties. Its call propaganda and also known as advertising. The Russians said they had proof and the attack happens before it could be shown...hmmm

There was zero reasons for those who had won, to do such a thing, but plenty of reason to make the claim by the LOSERS...who were who...

Quoting, "Trump claimed immediately it had happened after a video by the "White Helmets" who are backed by and connected to Al Quida, and the Intelligence forces of the West released the video of a supposed attack. Fireonthemountain is correct. There is an unseemly haste to make allegations and then use them to somehow "justify" an illogical rush to violence. Perhaps it looks good to a TV audience of intellectual lightweights and moral degenerates.

It turns out that the Russian MoD indeed issued a public statement some time ago pointing out that preparations were being made for a chemical incident in the area. They had the evidence and stated who it was. It was not the Syrian Arab Army...

Understand that neither the Russian military, nor the Syrian have in their possession chemical weapons. The Russian destroyed theirs according to the CWC. This has been independently verified by independent organisations of international standing. The Syrians destroyed theirs in accordance with an agreement with President Putin. This has also been checked and proven out independently by organisations of international standing. So, who does that leave on the field with chemical weapons? Well, what about the opponents to the Syrian regime? What of them?

Yesterday the Russian MoD reported they are in possession of evidence that Western governments set the incident up and were directly involved. In particular the focus is on the UK. The MoD point out that the objective is to elicit a military response from Russia and its allies in order to cause a conflict on a much larger scale than what has been on-going. In other words, they are saying the "gas attack" was a false flag intended as a provocation.

Quoting, "We believe that this strike is not a response to an alleged chemical attack, but a reaction to the success of the Syrian armed forces in the liberation of its territory from international terrorism."

Note that the international terrorists referred to have previously been publicly revealed at the UN and in the public domain (including the mainstream media) as to have been funded, supplied and trained by Western governments...

Quoting, "The strike was carried out exactly on the day, when the OPCW special mission was set to start its work in Damascus to probe the incident in the city of Douma, where chemical weapons had allegedly been used."

That last point is damning. It is especially so when the US government did not know who was responsible for the chemical incident, nor whether it even occurred. Testifying before Congress, Defense Secretary James Mattis said this. "I believe there was a chemical attack and we're looking for the actual evidence."

Looking for evidence is not the same as being in possession of actual evidence. What Secretary Mattis is admitting is that the US government has none. Even the New York Times mentioned this troubling lack of evidence. The UK has none either and nor does France. Apparently this concerned the German government sufficiently that it backed out of partaking in the military adventurism- denouncing the "chemical incident", denouncing the Syrian government (as if they did it) and, if German media reportings are correct, acting no further than that. 'Cause like the others, the German government has no evidence that the Syrian government mounted a chemical weapons attack of any kind whatsoever.

Pesky thing evidence...

Why not wait a few days until you actually have some rather than rush to aggressive war?

Meanwhile we have learned something else interesting here. The US and UK between them dispatched 103 missiles! That is an incredible quantity and ought to have been devastating in effect. They are claimed to be extremely accurate and given the examples of strikes in Iraq the claims of accuracy would appear to be borne out. Yet of those 103 missiles some 71 were intercepted. So, ~70% of the missiles launched were intercepted and failed to arrive at target.

Just think on that for a moment.

70% failure.

But then there is this on which to think a little further yet. The Russians did not participate. The interceptions were made by the Syrian government's military using Russian equipment of 1970s design and technology. They used S-125, S-200, Buk, Kvadrat, and Osa air defense systems. Think what that means. Imagine what the future holds were the Russians to sell the Syrians more contemporary air defense systems, things like S-300. For a start it would mean that the entire airspace above Syria would be a no-fly zone. All of it.

More significantly- there are national governments, not directly involved, but nevertheless watching developments. They now have confirmation that there exist means to make it incredibly expensive (in men, material, resources and cash) for the West to rely on military action to force their submission. China for one would have to be drawing conclusions from this affair. There are others. All would be aware that Syria is an internationally recognised sovereign state at international law. They would be aware that the US is prosecuting war in Syria without a declaration of war. That is against established international law. And THAT is a big problem. They'd also be aware that the President has ordered the US military into an attack on Syria in spite of the requirements of the US Constitution. There are reports being made that the US and the UK have undertaken a war of aggression (look up what that means- it aint good) which violates not only international law but their own internal laws as well. Some are reporting them as nations of lawlessness and piracy. This is extremely significant, especially at a time when there is so much cultural, social and financial instability throughout the world, including the US, UK, EU etc. It matters what people in other countries think and it matters what they conclude. As is being said in China, the "rest of the world" is not just the US.

Final point. The trouble with war is that it has effects which go far beyond the immediate region and direct participants. It has effects which reach well beyond. Of the judgments rendered by the Nuremberg Tribunal, British alternate judge Norman Birkett said this:

"War is essentially an evil thing. Its consequences are not confined to the belligerent states alone, but affect the whole world. To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole."
