Possible Good News on N. Korea

Post by RevTheory » Wed Mar 07, 2018 4:35 pm

It appears as though President Trump knew exactly what kind of guy he was dealing with and how to respond in a manner that he could understand. The media had their hair on fire thinking Trump was leading us straight to nuclear war.

“Trump’s rhetoric has had a psychological effect on the North Koreans,” Yun Sun, the co-director of the East Asia Program at the Stimson Center, a research organization based in Washington D.C. “Trump is regarded as a wildcard, so North Korea doesn’t know if what he says is just an empty threat or if he will actually follow through on what he says.”

Yun added: “What really worries them is that he has followed through with some of his threats.”

Little Rocketman may be playing us but it sounds like he may have finally broke. Let's hope so! And oh dear Lord I can already hear the liberal heads explode if Trump actually gets lil' Kimmy to disarm

I'm not optimistic about anything where DPRK are concerned. After all, we've seen this shit before, ie, yeah, "we're going to give up our nuclear program for $$$$ aid"........................yeah, right! They never missed a beat on the nuke shit and look where we are now!

I think that South Korea should turn that Seal Team 6 trained assassination team loose on the phat phuck "dear leader" with the bad haircut and get it over with once and for all!

I think li'l Kimmy knows Trump isn't going to give him a few billion to say he won't pursue nukes any further. Trump's made it quite clear that total disarmament is his only option.

We'll see. Don't you love a good game of chicken :D

It is a positive step in the right direction. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Just ran across this article.

"South Korean officials confirmed Kim Jong-un's willingness to give up nuclear weapons if the North's security is guaranteed.
A South Korean presidential spokesperson said Tuesday that North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un is willing to discuss nuclear disarmament with the United States and to halt nuclear and missile tests for the duration of diplomatic talks.
Kim Jong-un also agreed to a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in the border village of Panmunjom, in the demilitarized zone this April. This will be the first inter-Korean summit in over a decade. The last meeting occurred in 2007 under Kim Jong-il’s tenure.
The two sides have remained in a technical state of war since the 1950-1953 Korean war, but since last month’s Winter Olympics, in which the Koreas marched together under a single flag, relations have thawed.
The 10-member delegation, led by Seoul's national security chief Chung Eui-yong traveled to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Monday to attend high-level diplomatic talks.
Upon returning to Seoul, the delegation said in a press briefing that “the North side clearly affirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and said it would have no reason to possess nuclear weapons should the safety of its regime be guaranteed and military threats against North Korea removed.”"

If true that would be real progress.
