Mankinds abilities

Postby exhaustgases » Mon Aug 28, 2017 11:55 am

Questions, Can mankind do any of these things I list?

1 Fly
2 Go faster than 20 MPH
3 Walk across water or swim across the seas.
4 Dive to great depths into the oceans and stay for months or years.
5 Move mountains of dirt in a day single handed.
6 Cut down many acres of trees in a day by him self.
7 Accurately cut metal.
8 Talk for great distances.
9 Put devices into space.
10 Travel to space.
11 Tighten a bolt to 50 ft lbs.
12 Lift tons of weight with his fingers.
13 Reach into an oven that is over 2000 degrees F and remove a glowing piece of metal.
14 Crush large rocks into dust.
15 Cut large holes into hard rock.

Anyway you all see what I'm saying here and the list can go on for a very long time.
The answer to the question is NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man can not do any of the things I list.
TO DO ANY OF THE THINGS I LIST, MAN NEEDS A TOOL OR A MACHINE TO ACCOMPLISH THOSE TASKS.

If ancient man was to come to this time and see what man now does, how would he react? What would he think? Would he believe it?

Acually Usain Bolt has been clocked at 28mph. I'm sure other sprinters are not too far behind that.

Ancient man would not be able to explain any of those things using ancient language, except maybe the Ancient Greeks.
The difference between humans as animals is not that humans use tools, it is that humans use language. Complex problems can be solved with a pen and paper, and that knowledge can be preserved on paper for future generations.
If you want to see the limitations of ancient language, try doing calculus with Roman numerals.
For that reason, when I hear about the "rich oral history" and "ancient tribal traditions" of some group of people who have never had a written language, my BS detector goes off. Stuff like that can easily be altered by a single storyteller, let alone a hundred generations worth of storytellers.
Progress is made possible through language, and the most advanced civilizations tend to have the most highly developed language.

All good points. But the main jist of this post is, to accomplish anything other than some of the same things the animals do, man needs a tool or machine to do it.

Including weather and climate control.

I totally agree with your observations and conclusions. But each activity you list lies within the physical limits of physics and chemistry. If we are suggesting that it is possible to exceed the laws of physics, then I say bullshiit.

Any projections of future possibilities must conform to the laws of physics and chemistry; no exceptions.

Said laws are being broken all the time. In the big book it says "all things are possible".

Now that is sheer nonsense. Laws of physics have not been broken. Ever. And won't be.

Ah your one that thinks man is all knowing. Sorry but that is not true. The supposed laws of physics may work for the trivial things you fool with, but there are for sure some physics rules you know nothing about.

There are some tid bits on the net.

I'm not bothering with anymore no one looks anyway.

Oh okay more "NONSENSE" for the all knowing.

There are differences between theories, hypothesis, postulate, and physical laws.
Some theories have been given the name "laws" but have not yet been fully falsified. They are false laws.

Just because we do not understand or are not aware of certain physical laws, does not mean they do not exist and are fully operational.

There are many things that we do not yet know. Each new scientific idea is tested and challenged. If we cannot prove that it has exceptions or is wrong, it remains. If not, it is replaced. That is how science actually works. Facts are facts until they're not.

In the end, collective man, meaning collective minds can do anything they can imagine to do on and around planet earth. And controlling the climate and weather is included. The Book supports that statement, and the mention of certain ones of mankind using many powerful works to deceive and acting as gods as well. That book is cool in so many ways.

As long as their imagination stays within physical limits.
And controlling the climate and weather is included.

No, both are outside physical limits. Man can build shelter, design warm clothing, improve indoor heating, cooling and plumbing, but cannot control or alter weather or climate.

The Book supports that statement, and the mention of certain ones of mankind using many powerful works to deceive and acting as gods as well.

And which book is that? Mechanix Illustrated? Marvel comics? People magazine?
