FBI raids former Trump campaign chair's home, seizes notes, documents

FBI agents raided the Virginia home of Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman in late July, taking documents and other materials related to the investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, Fox News has confirmed.

Manafort's home in Alexandria, Va., was raided last month

“FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort’s residences,” Manafort’s spokesperson Jason Maloni, confirmed to Fox News. “Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well.”

The Washington Post first reported the early morning raid.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has turned up the heat on Manafort

Armed with a search warrant, federal agents went to Manafort’s Alexandria home during the predawn hours of July 26 – one day after he met voluntarily with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The search warrant seems to indicate that investigators may have had reason to believe Manafort could not be trusted to turn over all of the records requested in response to a grand jury subpoena, the Post reported, citing people familiar with the special counsel investigation.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has cranked up the intensity and legal pressure on Manafort on a series of unrelated investigations into various aspects of his personal and professional life, the Post reported.

2 big items.

1- it was a search warrant not a supeana so they had to convince a judge a crime has been committed, evidence is at the home, and the evidenxe could not be obtained with a supeana.

2-it was a pre-dawn raid. That requires rhrm to prove safety concerns or probable destruction of evidence if they wait for normal hours

It not looking good for Manafort

More news out today that the FBI raided Manafort's Virginia home a couple of weeks ago. They found an illegal server in the back bathroom, smashed hard drives and cell phones without sim cards. One computer had its hard drive bleach bit to erase all traces. Papers were burned to ashes in the fireplace. It has since been learned that Paul did not mean to do it. It was simply an over sight.

Wasn't it because of a tax deal this was all done? And done by the commies to make Trump look bad. Goes to show you they are still in control, since like TransAm was saying the other bunch always gets to walk away nothing touches em. Why is that?

They are looking at money laundering and tax evasion for sure and probably making false statements and obstruction and maybe election law violations (conspiracy and collusion).

So before it was what charge and where's the evidence and now it must be prosecutorial misconduct? Really?

I would to against this fishing expedition. No evidence of anything but they are looking for something, anything to charge him with. Reminds me of something the Soviet Union would do.

The judge who approved the warrant clearly believed there is evidence and remember he was under I investigation before joining the campaign. Supeanas could be a fishing trip....but warrants are a hunting trip.

I know you want the facts to support a narrative where Rump and all around him are victims....but they are most likely just plain old criminals.
