I don't think congress got that memo. Their hearings are what I refer to as the dog and pony show.
What does that have to do with swearing to tell t truth ?
You and I go to jail for it, they are exempt from it!

Congressional hearings are long drawn out affairs that only serve to quell public outrage about something that someone should go to jail for, ie, Benghazi is a recent example of this. In the end they are a fishing expedition to NOWHERE because no one is ever charged with anything and the general public eventually gets over being pissed and it's forgotten!

This article gives the opinion of one person who is "in the know" on DC politics. He says that Priebus will be gone by the end of August and that people who are close to him are responsible for some of the WH leaks! Good read but it will be some time before we see if he knows what he's talking about. Hint, in the past he's been pretty much dead on with this stuff!

Priebus Position Tenuous – Between The Lines With President Trump and Anthony Scaramucci…
Posted on July 23, 2017 by sundance

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/20 ... caramucci/
If you watch or listen to the interviews today with new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, and then overlay them against a backdrop of ongoing events (including last week), there’s a very solid outlook that Reince Priebus is close to being replaced as Chief of Staff.

Scaramucci says today: “If they want to stay on the staff, they’re going to stop leaking.” Where “they” are clearly White House staffers who have been identified as leaking to the media.

When you step back and remind yourself where “they” came from, you recognize this staff is primarily made up of former RNC staff brought into the White House by Reince Priebus the former head of the RNC and now Chief of Staff.

When you step back further you find yourself reminded what ideology those same RNC staffers carried before following Priebus to the White House. Then we quickly realize these are Scott Walker/Ted Cruz type GOPe loyalists who have no affinity for the populist approach of Trump.

There’s the problem that has existed in nuanced form from the outset of the decision to keep Reince Priebus inside the Trump administration as a bridge to the parties legislative and political apparatus in DC.

Sean Spicer, former RNC Communications head and Reince Priebus former RNC Chairman, are essentially loyal to the strength that was/is Trump as a political force. Their underlings, well, not-so-much.

The supportive inflexion point for Priebus was never more clear in 2016 than the moment he realized how many small donors were contributing the campaign of candidate Trump. The Republican Party had never before received so many, or so much, small donor support; ever, in the history of the party.

Both Spicer and Priebus publicly stated they were stunned at the level of grassroots support for candidate Trump. [400,000 in June ’16 alone] That donation support also carried with it a massive database of motivated voters. That database is worth multiple times more money than the actual contributions itself.

That database was seen by the party apparatus as the most valuable political tool in the past two decades. The donor contribution lists from that data are now creating thousands of inbound emails, letters and solicitations for subsequent donations – as the old party databases were dispatched and the newer, more valuable, Trump-database was activated for all current races throughout the nation.

I have no doubt most, if not all, readers here have seen a massive increase in those party and individual solicitations now using that database.

The level of power and influence carried by the scope of those grassroots donations is what convinced Priebus and Spicer who view the political power as the ends facilitated by such data. The historic scope of those political donations is what convinced Priebus and Spicer to join the Trump train; it was not the Trump message or policy.

However, at the layers below those wide-eyed, gleeful and financially intoxicated stares by the RNC national leadership, the more ideological staffers don’t share in the same motives for enthusiasm. The Spicer, Priebus and to a lesser extent the Conway’s loyalties, are not grounded in the same motives as the staffers. Thus the loyalty disconnect; and thus “the leaks”.

The only way to get rid of those leaks is to replace the professional Walker/Cruz-minded staffers with MAGA staffers; yes, deplorables.

Secondly, another overlay into this equation is the New York Times interview with President Trump that sparked so much controversy. According to the report surrounding the origin of that interview, it was on Trump’s schedule that day – but not actually as an interview.

As reported the invitation extended to the three New York Times reporters (Maggie Haberman, Peter Baker, Michael Schmidt) was so President Trump could meet and understand the three DC correspondents to the New York Times. It was not on the schedule as an interview. Maggie Haberman was very familiar with Donald Trump; Baker and Schmidt had never met him. Haberman was doing the introductions.

The interview angle came as an outcome of the reporters asking for some of the information to be ‘on the record‘. This fact helps explain how the Jeff Sessions comments came out as the president flows into, and out of, the “on-record” aspect. President Trump never says anything he’s not willing to own; but the free flow of consciousness approach within his interview answers can often lead to unintended headlines.

Notably, Reince Priebus was not at this meeting which turned into an interview. Normally, well, actually, with no exceptions, the Chief-of-Staff would certainly be present with any invited guest into the oval office. Yes, that includes media and all others unless specifically exempted by direction of the President.

President Trump’s Assistant, Hope Hicks, director of strategic communications and a quiet female version of ‘Lewandowski-level-loyalty’, was present as noted by The Times describing the venue environment; but no-one else.

Again, this indicates a particular type of distancing of the President from his Chief-of-Staff. That same type of ‘particular distancing’ is also evident in the overall decision to put Scaramucci in charge of communications.

A communications decision which indicated to a stunned and surprised Sean Spicer his exit was the best course. [See Hannity Interview]

Lastly, Anthony Scaramucci would never drop a mention of firing or removing White House Staff (ie. leakers) if the concern of leaks was not discussed between Trump and Scaramucci during their ongoing conversations leading up to the announcement to the Communications Director job. They’d obviously talked about this.

”Leave the gun, take the cannoli

Reince Priebus is at his weakest point with President Trump, ever. [Again, that outlook showed in his Hannity interview] The professional political apparatus is working to destroy President Trump. Priebus’s primary value was his connection, his network, to the professional political apparatus and his ability to flow between the legislative body of congress and the White House. With congress taking an oppositional stature toward the president, Priebus is no longer needed.

Vice-President Pence can serve the role of bridge-builder for any politician in DC that wishes to support the Trump agenda.

My hunch is that Reince Priebus will be gone by the end of August along with Sean Spicer and most of their RNC team of White House leakers.

Oe its yet another fake story put by the turd you put in the WH:

"But a review of the record shows that information made public in a Pentagon news release more than three weeks before the Times article, and extensively covered at the time by numerous news media outlets, would have tipped off Mr. Baghdadi that the United States was questioning an important Islamic State operative who knew of his recent whereabouts and some of his methods of communication. Further, the information in the Times article on June 8 came from United States government officials who were aware that the details would be published."

WH Communications Director Announces First Dismissals In Effort To Plug Leaks

From THIS article on TH.com
UPDATE: Short has resigned.
Jonathan Swan
✔@jonathanvswan

Text message just now from Michael Short: "I have resigned."
12:43 PM - 25 Jul 2017
White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has made it clear that he will make plugging leaks from the Trump White House a top priority. This presidency has more leaks than the Iraqi Navy, some of which have detrimentally impacted our national security. On CBS’ Face The Nation last weekend, Scaramucci warned that if they continue—he would fire everyone in the communications office. Now, Politico is reporting the first folks to have their names on the chopping block:

Newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said on Tuesday that he plans to dismiss assistant press secretary Michael Short.

It would be Scaramucci’s first step toward shaking up the communications shop, which has been dominated by former Republican National Committee staffers loyal to White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, a former RNC chairman.

Scaramucci warned that Short would be the first of many, if he’s not able to stop the leaks coming out of the communications and press shop.

“I’m committed to taking the comms shop down to Sarah [Huckabee Sanders] and me, if I can’t get the leaks to stop,” Scaramucci told POLITICO.

During his first day on the job on Monday, Scaramucci met with current communications staffers and warned about leaks coming from the office. “I offered amnesty in the meeting, but that decision is above my rank,” Scaramucci said.

Yet, it seems the wires might be crossed, as Short told CNN that he hasn’t had any inclination that he’s been fired. It looks like those are will be given their pink slips are finding out through social media. Ouch. We’ll keep you updated.

Here We Go => AG Sessions Set to Drop MAJOR Leak Investigation Report
July 25, 2017 by Joshua Caplan

From THIS article.
On the very same day President Trump hammered Sessions for being weak on leaks, the Attorney General is set to announce a major report on them.

The Hill reports:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will reportedly make an announcement about several criminal leak investigations within days.

Officials told The Washington Post about the forthcoming news from the Justice Department. The investigations will be centered around news reports containing sensitive material about intelligence, the report said.

The news comes as newly-appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci publicly decried leaks coming from within the West Wing in his first week on the job and vowed to fire staffers who continue talking to reporters.

The impending announcement also comes as Trump grows publicly unhappy with Sessions, last week criticized the attorney general for recusing himself from the Russia investigation.

Pressure by President Trump and Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has has renewed efforts to stop White House leaks.

CNBC wrote:

Anthony Scaramucci, the Wall Street financier tapped for the role last week, said Tuesday that he was prepared to “fire everybody” to stop information leaks from the press office.

Speaking to reporters, Scaramucci said that he was “not doing an investigation. I’m just going to get the leaking to stop.” He stressed that he had “the authority from the president to do that.”

“You’re either going to stop leaking or you’re going to get fired,” Scaramucci said.

Scaramucci said Tuesday that he planned to dismiss Assistant Press Secretary Michael Short, according to a report from Politico. Short, however, told Politico he had “not been informed of any decision” on Tuesday morning.

Axios confirmed Short’s resignation on Tuesday.

Leaks are one of the most pressing issue the Trump administration has faced since the very beginning. The White House is plagued by nearly one National Security leak per day.

Washington Free Beacon reports:

The Trump administration is battling an unprecedented wave of national security leaks that are appearing in the press at least once a day, significantly more than either the former Obama or Bush administration experienced in the same time frame, according to a new Senate investigation that warns these leaks are endangering U.S. security operations and relations with allied nations.

“Since President Trump assumed office, our nation has faced an unprecedented wave of potentially damaging leaks of information,” according to a new report published by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

“Under President Trump, leaks are flowing at the rate of one a day,” according to the report, which notes that “under President Trump’s predecessors, leaks of national security information were relatively rare.”

These leaks, often of highly classified national security information, are meant to undermine President Donald Trump’s administration and handicap his national security apparatus, according to sources inside and outside the White House familiar with the situation.

The Gateway Pundit did an extensive report on the Deep State leaks to left-wing media outlets.

The leaks are all being reported by biased liberal media outlets that were adamantly opposed to the election of President Trump.

These ‘leaks’ in all cases still are not supported with any names of so-called sources and in all cases the ‘leaks’ are meant to destroy the current President.

President Trump is handicapped at this point in his Presidency with the ‘leaks’ coming out and many blame this on the ‘deep state’ government that is currently in place. A large portion of the government is still basically run by the prior Obama Administration because the Democrats have done all they can to stall the appointment process with Congressional Republican leadership in no apparent hurry to place the President’s appointees as well. As of late May, there were 455 key executive branch positions with Obama administration holdovers in many sections of the bureaucracy that are still in control.

Joel Pollak at Breitbart News provided this summary:

In their effort to impugn Trump, the [New York] Times and the [Washington] Post violate the most basic journalistic standards. Publishing parts of a document that you do not possess and cannot verify, and timing the release to cause maximum political damage (right after the president leaves the country), is not investigative journalism. It is political propaganda.

… For the elite mainstream media, when it comes to protecting Democrats or attacking Republicans, there are no journalistic standards, no ethics, and no shame.

The President has the law on his side. Attorney General Sessions needs to add these entities and individuals to a growing list of corrupt swamp dwellers that he needs to bring to justice.

Report: Sessions to Subject NSC Staff to Lie Detector Tests
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reportedly considering putting the National Security Council staff through lie detector tests. In particular, he wants staffers to be grilled about what they know about the leaked transcripts of President Trump's phone calls with foreign leaders.
