Wanted: 2-bolt 400 SBC bare block

Post by Zmechanic »

Looking for a good 400 SBC 2-bolt main block. Preferably no cracks in steam holes into head bolt holes, and not bored more than 0.030" over.

Willing to travel a decent ways from Austin, TX area, or ship if price is right.

Thanks!

With or without main caps?

We can probably come up with a cleaned .030" for $400.

Assuming it hasn't gotten legs and walked off, I have a good 400 2-bolt block in storage at a local Dallas Tx machine shop.
IIRC it had been bored .020 (yes, .020) but not finish honed, square decked to 9.00 and align honed. One of those things
that I've had laying around for years and keep forgetting.
If you or someone else reading this has a real interest, I'll make time to go dig it out. PM me for $ or any other info.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was having a heck of a time finding one, then suddenly this weekend 3 popped up on craigslist. Scored a 2-bolt, unbored block.
