That is a nice "find". that would be one that should fit in a 1968 mod. Every 67 I've seen had the oil filter base on the block machined for the old Canister type filter. That block still carries the tall Distributor housing cast into it. The later years had it down. I have a rare BB alum block. It was a one off factory test piece that was built Solid and as a tall deck. It came to me through the Jim Hall Chaparral road race program. I'm a real "lover" of this old Iron or Alum since I was cutting my racing teeth on this stuff "Back in the Day". Sorry didn't mean to Hi Jack your post. Just sharing the past!! Good luck with your sale.

Adger, ANYTIME you want to talk about GM special hi performance parts, I'm all ears. The code is actually IT.

OH!
IT 1968 Corvette 427 435 Mt
IT 1967 Corvette 427 435 Mt
So, the IT code "IS" 67 & 68 Corvette 427 435 Man Trans.
I still say it has to be a 68 with the block machined that way or a "Real Late, Late" 67. Probably at the changeover.
If you want to make it a single 4- I have one of the carbs for a 67 vette, it has a late date code, too... I think I still have a date code manifold that is near the same date as the carb. I'll have to dig that stuff out and refresh my memory.
