'57 Chevy 283 FI Long Block

Post by Krooser »

My son has a '57 283 that came out of a Black Widow clone. The engine is complete minus the intake and carbs. It had a 2X4 set-up on it. The engine is pretty fresh… it is a low mileage deal. The car was a 99 point show car and seldom saw highway miles.

Block # 3731548 date code 10-4-56. # on the serial number pad is T1005SC (we need to verify this #). Heads are 3731539… will list the date code asap.

We are not really sure of the cam or pistons that are in this engine… we will borescope the cylinders to see if they are flat top or domed. I believe it is a solid lifter cam… we will verify this asap.

The PO pulled this engine and replaced it with a GM crate engine. My son got this engine in trade for his help to the former owner over several years. He did some maintenance driving with this car and said the engine ran very strong. It has need stored less than one year.

We are looking for solid offers. Pics will follow soon.

Questions? 715-252-7048 Rick.
