John Wallace wrote: Wed May 30, 2018 8:23 am Not sure on the spring rate.
It depends on some data on the suspension, around 200 lbs probably?

Try this link:
Spring Rate

I made many launches on my car to see where the bars needed to be for a good 'hook'.
(I have ladder bars though, 4 links lot more adjustments)
Some made a huge improvement in hooking. Then start on the springs, then the shocks.

:)
Thanks John! That is a big help! What type of shocks do you use? Varishock?

Summit had a sale on theirs when I bought them, made by Strange and saved $100 on the pair. I am running 95 lb springs.

The most important thing is to scale the car when you change.

a typical NHRA SuperStock SS/J Class Car will accelerate to these ET/MPH times :
anywhere from 1.370 to 1.382 60 Feet ET's ....so you should expect to reach those numbers
with better Launch/Traction Hookup

Code: Select all

  Feet ET real MPH (*Time Slip MPH)
   60= 1.3820  46.1644
  330= 4.1240  85.0472
  594= 6.0103  104.3876
  660= 6.4340  107.9873 (*106.1874)
  934= 8.0692  120.3856
 1000= 8.4390  122.9538 (*121.6697)
 1254= 9.7986  131.5975
 1320= 10.1380  133.5747 (*132.5861)

0  to 30 MPH  ET= 0.6392 at 18.0 Ft
0  to 60 MPH  ET= 2.2084 at 124.6 Ft
0  to 80 MPH  ET= 3.6957 at 278.1 Ft
0 to 100 MPH  ET= 5.5234 at 521.0 Ft
0 to 120 MPH  ET= 8.0147 at 924.4 Ft
0 to 140 MPH  ET= 11.3289 at 1559.0 Ft

 Ft    ET      MPH     GForce
-1  -0.1935   0.0000   0.0000
0   0.0000   7.0462   1.6598
your acceleration rate starts to match the SS/J Car's around 660 FT upwards
and your HP output is similar ,
however, your HP output after 1000 FT starts to fall-off as compared to a SS/J car
so i'd look for the cause of this .

you should be around 132+ MPH at 1320 FT ET Slip MPH,
and not just 131's

THANKS! I see yer point! I am just sorting this combo and have only worked my way up to 35 degrees of timing which retards to 34 degrees. I will try bumping the timing up to 36/35 and see what happens, yer thoughts?
