Help locating a tech inspector
I am thinking of buying a car in Texas. It is an older Roadster, near Amarillo. I hope to get a tech inspector to "tech" the car , so I know what I'm in for, regarding upgrades needed. Of coarse I'm willing to pay the man for his services. Don't know if this is a viable way to go, or what the cost would be. I'm 2000 miles away, & sure could use some help with the decision. The seller seems like a good guy & I can't see him having a problem with getting this done. Ideas? Comments? Thanks guys

Re: Help locating a tech inspector
I would call the NHRA Div 4 Tech Director and ask him for help.

Does the chassis have an old/outdated NHRA chassis certification sticker?
If so, what is the expiration date?
Example:
The chassis has a certification sticker that expired in 2002.
Check if there have been any rule changes that affect the chassis (usually the changes will require additional tubes, not replacing existing tubes with larger or thicker tubes).
Have the owner take photos of the driver's cage area and compare the photos (bar layout) to that in a current NHRA rule book (or SFI spec.).
Here is the list of NHRA Division 4 (includes Texas) tech inspectors.
