Turbo Charged Drag Car with a carb

I was wondering what the best way to check the blow off valves actual opening is at ? We are running a 302 ford with a 62mm turbo blowing through a quick fuel 850 carb. We are having surges and not constant boost.

i'd hood up a microswitch and a light on the dash
