Considering a 5 million people nation we have way too many World champions;in rally as F1.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wo ... _championshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fo ... _Champions
Then check how many Finns are driving either in WRC or F1 that are not yet champions..
What's wrong with us?
Where are US rally champions? Or Russian? Not to mention India and China! That much people should have someone great driver!
No,we don't have big sponsors to buy the place in top (and you don't be on the top team long without results)
Sweden have almost double the people and where's the champions?
Germany has about 10 times the people and while they have few great drivers the number of the drivers is small.
Again compared to 5 million nation..
Maybe it's just the 6 monts of winter when you have to learn to control the car or end up the snow bank.Or maybe it's just the mindset.
The champions have always been relaxed, easygoing type.Maybe when in young they have the "I WILL WIN!" attitude but when grown up they relax.
As Juha Kankkunen said when Group-B cars were outlawed "You can live without 500 horsepower but it's misery!"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_Bhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UYUP4U3L6U
Crappy 80's video but the sounds.. remember that those cars have no intake restrictor and turbos were packing more than 2 bar..Would you go in on reading the map?
in the 4.20 Mikkola tell that sometimes he feel that he wasn't even inside the car;faster you drived the crazy winged Audi the faster you could drive!
Then there was only Mikkola,Alen,Vatanen,Kankkunen,Toivonen and maybe someone else I just don't remember fighting for win.Finns of course.
