V8 into stock S10?

My S10 motor is shot,was 4.3. I have a good used 400 sbc,small 270-470 comp hydraulic,performer intake.cheap shorty headers. maybe 320 hp. The stock overdrive trans works good. Question is will it break soon? I wanted to bracket race trophy class now and then. It is a daily driver. What do I do about the fuel injection , I am going holley 600 cfm. and then I want to put in a regular hei dist. How do I make that work? I was hoping to use a block mounted pump. And to top it all off the stock fuel pump just went out. #-o Love to hear some advice. THANKS IF YOU CAN HELP :D

How is licensing worked out?

Here in MO we have a safety inspection with a smog equipment visual. So if a V-8 never was stock, what goes on??

In Alabama we don;t have all that stuff here. I still believe in using converters unless its off road. Magnaflow makes some good converters in the flow dept.My S10 is about 30 yrs old. It may not have converters on it by now.

Which wire coming from the firewall will plug into a new V8 HEI? Can I just take the guts out of the electric pump in tank and just run a line to the pump on side of block. Am I asking too many dumb questions? Sorry I love to learn #-o

no idea whats coming out of the firewall on one of them, but you need keyed 12 volts to the HEI.
