Bolt on yoke C4 ????

Post by Casper393W » Fri Dec 22, 2017 6:24 pm

I have a Bolt-on yoke in my C4 for my F100. With 600hp I am afraid that the 1310 yoke is going to be a weak link. My question is does anyone know of a aftermarket replacement??? I would like to upgrade to 1350 joints at the same time

Thanks
Andy

Bolt on, are you talking a bolt going into the tranny output shaft or bolt on Ujoint straps?

I have used the outside clip smaller GM ujoints on circle track cars and the strongest ones are Borg Warner without the grease fitting. Second thing you might try Mark Williams.

Yes this trans has a fixed yoke that is bolted on to the output shaft.

I don't recall seeing any having 1350 joints. Wonder if a 1350, 28 spline yoke can be modified to work?

Just had a thought, not sure if E250 or E350s ever came with C-4s but their drivelines came with 1350 joints.

That is a good thought...I would about bet it they would have a C6 never know I might could get lucky!

My next question: do you guys think...Spicer solid 1310 joints would hold up to 600hp in a 3800 lb F100 just footbraking?

According to Spicer the 1310 joint will run at 400 ft lbs continuously and 800 ft lbs intermittently. Minimum elastic limit is 1600 ft lbs. Maximum rated RPM is 6000.
To answer your question, probably not and be happy about it. Might hang on for a while.

Thanks for the info....I guess I will try my luck since I am running the solid joints... I just need to make sure it doesn't wheel hop....or chatter the drag radials...
I will keep everyone posted.

Mark Williams may have one. I have an Astro Performance A5 with a Williams 1350 yoke....250.00.
