3 speed or glide

Postby phantomfab » Mon Feb 13, 2017 4:04 am

Hey guys. Putting together a bmod and was wondering which one would be better: a direst drive powerglide or a 3 spreed saginaw with a 16 lbs flywheel and a 20 lbs clutch. Flexplate for the glide is around 8 lbs. and im not sure about the drive. Which one is going to give less problems, I'm open to peoples opinions. Also, does anyone know the rotating weights for these transmissions? Thanks in advance.

from years of experience a glide with a coupler will walk off and leave a 3 speed with a stock size flywheel and pressure plate. With a triple disc the difference is still there but not as great.

I appreciate the reply, did you have any problems running the glide? Failures, issues, etc. Maintenance hassle?
