Stud or bolt upgrade worth it? ie gm 7.5, dana 44 or ford 8.8
I know as much as I can learn and try to keep an open mind to anything!

If I didn't overthink stuff I wouldn't be on speedtalk!

Just use a cover with the preload set screws. Looks spiffy too. :D

In my experience with broken rear ends, the cap itself breaks before the fastener. My vote is for the preloaded cover. It's what I use on my 8.8 Ford. I thought of trying to fabricate something similar to that through the back of a 9 inch Ford housing and housing brace. Broke a nodular center section once, the caps busted in half. Ended up buying a Moser unit and those caps are way beefier.
