Broken trans mounts TKO600

Postby GT427 » Sat Mar 24, 2012 6:03 pm

This is a high hp small block, 3900lb.

Got a bad vibration and when I checked things out found the the mounting tabs broken off the gearbox casing.

Would making a solid mount for the gearbox be a fix for this?

Any possible causes I need to look at?

What are you using for the engine mounts?
Before I tied the trans solid, I'd go further into finding what else may be wrong.

If the motor isn't held solidly do not hold the trans solidly, and even then id use a mount..

Id be more interested in how that happened, any vibrations prior to that major vibe, misalignment maybe ?

If the engine is on a plate you need a rubber or whatever mount on the trans to compensate for twist or whatever is happening. solid and solid does not work.
