Racing not what it used to be

It seems like this all is done to get rid of motor sports popularity. Reminds me of when the hydros in seattle went from Allison's and Merlilns to vacuum cleaner sounding boats, no more thunder boats. I never watch them now.

In Detroit they used to get almost a million people on the riverfront to watch the "Thunderboat" racing.
Now days ... they hope for a couple hundred thousand people to watch the "Wooshboats" compete.

No racing is as good as it was in 60's-70's. They have taken all the individual ingenuity out of it for trying to have a "fair" everyone is equal playing field.
As far as Lemans goes I miss the days of the Ford GT-40 program with those husky sounding FE 427 thundering down the straight!

As a youngin the only reason I even watched motor sports especially the hydro's was to see the engine problems and watch them being worked on, and dream about being there twisting the wrenches.
